I should say right off the bat that I never would have ended up on vacation in Camden, Maine this past August- and enjoyed all of these wonderful meals- if it weren't for Nancy Harmon Jenkins' sage advice. So really, I am indebted to her. That being said, if you're interested in seeing Maine through her eyes (and stomach!), check out her website. There's no better person for this. I grew up going to the Lakes Region of Maine, to a town we affectionately referred to as "Stinkin' Lincoln," … [Read more...] about Maine's Midcoast: Summer Fare Extraordinaire

The Blue Lobster: Foodie Fatale Readers' Choice Lobster Roll Winner
I inaugurated my Foodie Fatale blog back in 2010 with a post entitled Lobster Lust: Top 5 Lobster Rolls on the Connecticut Shoreline. Little did I know at the time that this would remain my most popular (and controversial!) Foodie Fatale entry. Over the years, Lobster Lust was shared, discussed and questioned by thousands. And I received many comments and emails about the locales readers believed I wrongly missed in my list. By this past summer of 2014, I felt it was time to revisit the … [Read more...] about The Blue Lobster: Foodie Fatale Readers' Choice Lobster Roll Winner
Miya's Sushi, Chef Bun Lai and a Tasty Fundraiser
There isn't much I can say about New Haven chef Bun Lai and his restaurant Miya's Sushi that hasn't already been said- and said well. An environmentalist and social activist, Lai takes his place in the food … [Read more...] about Miya's Sushi, Chef Bun Lai and a Tasty Fundraiser

Gazpacho Passion
All photos by Fran McMullen Photography- at Chef Prasad Chirnomula's Oaxaca Kitchen in New Haven, Connecticut. Perhaps all romance is like that; not a contract between equal parties but an explosion of dreams and desires that can find no outlet in everyday life. Only a drama will do and while the fireworks last the sky is a different colour. Jeanette Winterston, The Passion I can only describe it as a romance. Red Pepper Sorbet, Toasted Pepitas, Tomato Avocado Tartar, Jalapeno Oil: … [Read more...] about Gazpacho Passion
Rendezvous: Knave at Le Parker Meridien
Do you need a midtown rendezvous locale- for a business meeting, first date, reunion, pre- or post-theatre drinks? I have the perfect place for you. Knave is a hidden treasure nestled in a narrow but magnificent corridor of Le Parker Meridien between 6th and 7th avenues (with entrances on both 56th and 57th streets). It's practically a given that I will love any establishment that is playing Kay Kyser and his Orchestra's "Who Wouldn't Love You" when I walk in. Such is the case with … [Read more...] about Rendezvous: Knave at Le Parker Meridien
